Our founders encountered catalogue challenges wherever they worked.
Across engineering, manufacturing, enterprise technology, distribution and
digital commerce, they repeatedly saw product information fall behind,
updates become uneven and inconsistencies accumulate.
They saw it across Australasia, North America, Asia, Europe and the Middle East,
through work with organisations including Mitsubishi, Dell, 3M, Apple,
Hewlett-Packard and Seagate.
As catalogues expanded and organisations grew,
those problems became harder to control.
Over time, one thing became clear:
It must help customers discover the right products, build confidence,
support buying decisions, create commercial opportunities and reinforce the brand.
But publishing products does not ensure those responsibilities are fulfilled,
and maintaining product data alone does not keep them fulfilled
as the catalogue changes.
That recognition led to the Sales-Ready Standard.
Defining the standard was only part of the answer. Businesses also needed
a way to establish those responsibilities across the catalogue and keep them
fulfilled as it changed.
